The Ant-ernationale

  • Video for "Better Worlds" conference, Kingston, 2002

The Ant-ernationale is an elegy for my youthful, utopian dreams of a free, democratic, and socialist Canada. I made it for a conference about utopias, called "Better Worlds", organized by the Agnes Etherington Gallery in Kingston, Ontario.

The soprano is Denise Williams.

​

The video footage was shot by Mike Connelly, at the location of the River of Books installation in the Cedarvale ravine in Toronto, 2000.
